PERFORATION
Perforation is utilised in well operations to create an efficient communication path between the wellbore and reservoir by creating tunnels. These tunnel/paths allow reservoir fluid to flow into the well with minimum pressure loss.
Perforation of a wellbore via jet perforating guns involves the use of a perforation gun which is lowered into a planned depth within the wellbore. The perforation gun is then energized and shape charges are fired. The expended energy from the fired shaped charges will then create tunnels though the wellbore casing and cement and into the reservoir.
